BEST, BEST, BEST AND BEST—OUR 2022 ESTATE PINOT NOIR WINS BIG

Including Best Wine in Show at the 2023 International Cool Climate Wine Show.

We're honoured to share the exciting news that our 2022 Estate Pinot Noir recently took out not one but four bests at the International Cool Climate Wine Show – including the coveted title of Best Wine in Show!

🏆 Best Wine in Show
🏆 Best Red Wine in Show
🏆 Best Australian Wine in Show
🥇 Best Pinot Noir in Show

Our winning wine is best described as plush and elegant. It offers a palate of intense cherry, crunchy acid and finely integrated tannins. Its winemaking was minimal intervention yet carefully considered, with each parcel of fruit individually tended to in open fermenters with whole bunch integration and gentle daily pump-overs before blending.

Speaking directly to our Estate Pinot’s quadruple International Cool Climate Wine Show wins, our head winemaker Adam Carnaby said, “In Australia, wine shows are a really valued means of gaining independent feedback as winemakers. So, when you get the big wins and more than one, it’s deeply satisfying on a personal level.”

The wins also validate that our many years of striving to make the best Pinot Noir we possibly can have paid off. We truly believe the Adelaide Hills is one of Australia’s best cool climate regions, capable of producing some of the best Pinot Noir in the country. And, to be judged as this year’s winner of the International Cool Climate Wine Show’s Best Pinot Noir in Show, Best Red Wine in Show, Best Australian Wine in Show, and overall Best Wine in Show is a remarkable feat.

Our 2022 Wicks Estate Pinot Noir also recently triumphed at the 2023 Cowra Wine Show, winning Best Single Vineyard Pinot Noir — Again proving the Adelaide Hills can produce Pinots that rival those of Tassie, the Yarra and Mornington.
